a large US international law firm initiated DWT Pacific.

Davis Wright Tremaine was the first U.S. firm with legal authority to maintain a law office in Shanghai. Formally opened on Jan. 1, 1994, the office has steadily grown to a full complement of attorneys advising clients in a broad range of industries on the legal implications of doing business in China. Most of the lawyers in the DWT Shanghai office were born and raised in China and speak English and one or more Chinese dialects.
