Press release: Andrew Kidu returns to Pacific Legal Network as Regional Special Counsel

PLN Australia and the Pacific Legal Network (PLN) are pleased to announce that Andrew Kidu has re-joined the network as regional Special Counsel, based with PLN Australia in Brisbane.

This is Andrew’s second stint with PLN, having previously been a Senior Associate with PLN in Sydney before moving to an in-house role as Regional Head of Legal & Regulatory for the largest ICT company (telecommunications and television) in the Pacific.

Andrew’s 8 years as in-house counsel gives him a unique commercial insight into the management and operation of businesses and has given him extensive experience as a trusted adviser to Senior Management, Boards and shareholders on key legal, regulatory, compliance, corporate governance and business development issues.

His work with PLN Australia will facilitate investment into the Pacific by entities from around the world and between countries in the Pacific. This includes assisting established multinationals or new entities in domestic and cross-border commercial and financial transactions in the Pacific. Such transactions involve detailed planning, legal and strategic advice on the legal and regulatory requirements for acquiring, establishing, operating and/or financing businesses in the Pacific. It also includes liaising and coordinating with local counsel, Government officials, regulatory authorities and other stakeholders.

Having grown up in PNG and worked across the Pacific, Andrew has a unique understanding of the Pacific, its people and customs, and doing business in the Pacific. He will in particular be a valuable resource for inbound clients seeking informed and relevant advice about doing business and the regulatory environment in PNG.

Andrew will be based in Brisbane so that Australian clients continue to have direct access to PLN services in Sydney and Brisbane as well as all major cities in the Pacific.
