Based in our Sydney office, Damian is a Senior Associate with the Pacific Legal Network team, specialising in cross border financing, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic advisory for financial institutions across diverse markets throughout the Pacific region.

With a proven track record in advising leading financial institutions, international organisations and governments in the Pacific, Damian brings a wealth of international legal expertise. He has worked extensively with major finance players including ANZ, Westpac, Bred Banque, and Bank of South Pacific, as well as international and governmental organisations including MIGA, IFC and Millennium Challenge Corporation.

Damian previously ran our London office, gaining specialist insight in financing transactions and the challenges that are faced by investors looking to do business in the Pacific. Drawing on his international experience, he now supports European and global clients with their investments and growth across multiple Pacific jurisdictions.

Damian holds a Master of Laws in International Law from the University of New South Wales, graduating with Excellence. His studies concentrated on green finance and renewable energy structuring in Pacific Big Ocean States, alongside comparative research on Indigenous marine governance and regional trade and investment regimes. He was named on the Dean’s List, Faculty of Law (2022) for outstanding achievement in World Trade Law, analysing the tariff treatment of climate-positive goods under PACER Plus and other free trade agreements.

Outside of work, Damian makes the most of international lawyering, volunteering his time to causes that promote the rights of traditional landowners and traveling to over 85 jurisdictions. Most recently, Damian provided support to the Solomon Islands Public Solicitors Office and worked on submissions to the International Court of Justice.
