Sydney / Port Moresby

Pacific Legal Network has significantly expanded its in-country legal capability in Papua New Guinea, reinforcing its position as a leading provider of coordinated legal services across the Pacific Islands.

The expansion comes amid increasing cross-border investment and regulatory complexity in Papua New Guinea, particularly across the resources, infrastructure, telecommunications, banking and finance sectors. As one of the Pacific’s largest and fastest-evolving economies, PNG continues to attract regional and international interest, driving demand for sophisticated, locally grounded legal support.

The PNG Pacific Legal Network office (formerly Lane Lawyers) has responded by strengthening its Port Moresby-based team, deepening its ability to support clients with both domestic and multi-jurisdictional legal needs.

The practice is led by established Partners Eunice Noki and Tony Noki, whose combined experience spans civil and commercial litigation, complex dispute resolution, corporate advisory, and major project-related legal work across Papua New Guinea. Eunice Noki brings extensive experience in commercial litigation and advisory matters across the resources, employment, banking and finance, and corporate sectors, while Tony Noki is widely recognised for his leadership in delivering strategic, commercially focused legal solutions in complex regulatory environments.

Commenting on the firm’s growth as part of Pacific Legal Network, Tony Noki said:

“Pacific Legal Network’s regional reach, depth of expertise and strong Pacific values align closely with our own commitment to delivering high-quality, pragmatic legal services in Papua New Guinea. We are particularly focused on supporting inbound and outbound investment, ensuring clients can confidently navigate both local requirements and broader regional opportunities.”

The team is further strengthened by leading regional telecommunications lawyer Andrew Kidu, whose expertise spans telecommunications law and regulation, mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, corporate compliance, foreign investment regulation and general commercial advisory. His experience adds significant depth to the firm’s ability to advise on complex transactions and regulatory frameworks.

Speaking on the growing demand for high-quality legal expertise in Papua New Guinea, Andrew Kidu said:

“The expansion of Pacific Legal Network’s presence in Papua New Guinea demonstrates its commitment to promoting locally-owned firms with highly-skilled practitioners. With the addition of Eunice, Tony and their team, PNG Pacific Legal Network is better equipped to provide world-class and coordinated legal services to investors in these exciting times in the Pacific.”

John Ridgway, Founder and Head of Legal Services at Pacific Legal Network, said the expansion reflects the organisation’s long-term regional strategy.

“Papua New Guinea is central to the Pacific’s economic future, and the continued growth of our team there reflects both the increasing sophistication of client demand and our commitment to meeting it with strong, locally based expertise,” Mr Ridgway said. “Eunice and Tony have built an exceptional practice, and alongside Andrew, and the growing number of junior local lawyers, the depth of capability in PNG is stronger than ever.”

Pacific Legal Network operates across more than 20 Pacific jurisdictions, providing a unique model of coordinated legal services through locally embedded lawyers. Its Papua New Guinea practice plays a critical role in supporting clients navigating both local regulatory frameworks and broader regional investment strategies.
