Four in Hand

After the delights of Maketi Ples, the PLN crew were in dire need of some R&R, so John took us to one of his favourite haunts from his university days, the famed Four in Hand. Located on Sutherland Street in Paddington, the Four in Hand features a very pleasant ambiance. The décor is very warm and intimate, with a rather unique collection of squid artwork deigning its walls. The menu at the Four in Hand includes a considered selection of pub classics and fine dining, featuring artfully crafted cuisines. The roast quail with sage and bacon stuffing, served with white polenta and asparagus was delicious, a carefully prepared delight. For all the sweet toothed diners (like me) the cinnamon donuts with coffee cream and chocolate sauce did not disappoint. The service was attentive and friendly, ready to be by your side at a moment’s notice. Our server recommended a great selection of reds, whites and dessert wines, which kept our whole table more than satisfied! After finishing our amazing meal, we moved over to the pub for a night cap, which was a great way to wrap up our evening.
